La collaboration de notre école avec l'Université de Lyon en France

 C'est avec grand plaisir que nous avons accueilli et collaboré pendant un mois avec deux étudiants de dernière année de la Faculté des sciences de l'éducation de l'Université de Lyon, France, de mars à avril. La coordinatrice des activités était l'enseignante de français Mme Voula Mylonaki, tandis que presque tout le personnel de l'école et tous les enfants de tous les départements ont participé.

Our school

Our school is situated in the center of the city of Chania and accepts children from the surrounding neighborhoods to study aged from 6 to 12 years old, according to Greece’s education legislation. It’s operation dates back to 1930 with a very rich historic archive.

During this school year (2018-2019) 229 students study all the subjects offered by the Greek legislation, such as Greek language, maths, science, religion, English, French and German language physical education, arts, drama and ICT. Moreover, our school offers support to children with learning difficulties with special education teachers as well as support to mild learning difficulties by general education teachers. The school operates until 13:15 whereas pupils whose parents are working can stay to the complimentary program until 16:00. During the complimentary program they eat their lunch and do their homework supervised under teachers.


 

Our school has a strong urge towards innovation and promotes any initiative that motivates pupils to
reach their potential. In order to accomplish this aim during the present school year five special clubs are forwarded where pupils of 3rd and 4th grade have chosen to attend: Sport club (tennis and ping pong), Drama Club, Art Club, Music Club and Electronics/Robotics Club.
